About the performance
La Baracca (Italy) present The Colours of Water
Performed by two actors, the Colours of Water has a loose story with few words, and its appeal lies in the spell-binding interaction of colour, light, water and sound.
Set in a simple garden, water brings the garden to life and a rainbow appears.
The characters want to catch its colours and create their own rainbow.
At the end of the play children and parents are invited into the playing space to play with the objects and talk about what they have seen.
We hope carers and children will enjoy :-
- sharing and talking about a new experience together
- learning to watch and listen
- discovering a powerful stimulus for language development
- finding opportunities for open-ended exploratory talk and play after the performance
