Storywriting Competition
The Adventures of Little O
Who’s Little O? Only you know!
Might be an old old man, might be a baby, might be an animal, might be a ghost or a puppet. Only you know – where and why Little O went, and what happened next.
The entrants wrote us a story titled The Adventures of Little O. They were told to make it as fantastic and exciting as they can. Maybe it’s a scary tale to make hearts go bump and hairs stand on end!
Entrants were aged 7 to 13. Winners received a family ticket to a festival performance of their choice, and a £15 book token, as well as the chance to have their stories read on Takeover Radio by a professional actor.
The stories published
The Spark Festival has been working with illustrator and artist Joe Wilson and students from St Paul's School to create illustrations for the winning stories. The book was then laid out and designed by Keith Turner at mooli.
The book has been printed by our Print Partner, Taylor Bloxham, and was launched on Wednesday 6th October 2010. The book will be distributed to all primary schools in Leicester city by the Whatever It Takes campaign.
A special thanks must go to the illustrators: Emma Melia, Emma Heathcote, Mariequette Bituin, Tom Mackow, Josh Pegg, Hamza Nagdi, Joel Barretto, Joel Gregoire, Laura Warburton, and their teacher Paul Gillespie.
